Friendly Moments by the Bosphorus

Praise record holder of year 2008; Friendly Fires made it to Istanbul the night before. With an absolutely grower self-titled debut and sort of a fusion dance style specying synth-pop added to noisy shoegazing; the band did shake the newbies department; both chart and fan-wise.

Stood out clearly among the rest of line up (The Whip - Gabriella Cilmi (headliner) etc.); it was a pleasure to get to see them in a breezy Bosphorus night. Energetic, fun, pushing... Ed Macfarlane put his autograph into the night in reflect to the satisfied applauds cheering up from the crowd. His super-stylish trousers did help the image building, I gotta say!

Audience throwing "friendly" flowers into the stage and he is throwing them back; every single person at the front row jumping on their feet in the mean time. Don't remember having this much fun at a concert recently. Paris, Jump In The Fool, Skeleton Boy type of hits obviously were embraced by the hot crowd. But nothing changed with the relatively hidden gems in the album. My personal favorite White Diamonds sounded even better live.

They stayed on the stage for about an hour and we humble souls suffered from leg pains afterwards. There was booze to heal. Surely. I mean of course. Danced into the night, all together!

Anywho, all I am saying is go catch them whereever you are.
